Accommodation Tools

Kids provides many accommodation tools to help every student access the content. These include the read-aloud function, the font options, and the translation feature. All of these features exist on article pages.

Read-aloud

All articles in World Book's core products contain a read-aloud function.

To activate the read-aloud function, click on the blue play button.
The read-aloud function contains a word-by-word highlight so students can easily follow along and hear how each indivdiual word is pronounced.
Select change voice to change the speed and sound of the read-aloud.

Translations

Articles can be translated into over 100 languages. See the complete list of languages here.

To translate the text, click on the translation icon in the upper right corner.
Select the language to view the translated article. To switch back to English select "Reset to English" at the bottom of the translation menu.

Fonts

Users can change articles to either OpenDyslexic or Hyperlegible font.

To change the font of the text, click on the font icon
in the upper right corner.

Select the font you would like to switch to.

View the article in the font you selected.
