The World Book Online for Kids home page was designed to help young users find information quickly and develop online skills.

1. Browse buttons help early readers navigate the site with colorful icons and age-appropriate classification headings.

2. A featured video from the World of Animals appears on the home page; use the controls at the bottom to start, pause, or stop the video. Enter the World of Animals to compare animals side by side and view a collection of animal facts, videos, images, and Web links.

3. Entertaining, educational games keep young learners engaged while developing math, language, and critical thinking skills.

4. World Book’s age appropriate Science Projects and experiments provide the instruction and resources for long-term and last minute science fair projects.

5. The Biographies feature provides a powerful yet easy-to-use search and browse interface for young users to locate biography articles.  Biographies are searchable by occupation/area of work, gender, nationality/ethnicity, and time period.

6. World Book Online for Kids offers dozens of hands-on activities to instruct and entertain children of all types of learning styles.

7. The collection of resources in Maps and More allow young users to explore their exciting world.

Interactive Maps help learners associate the content of World Book articles to their location on the world map.

• The World Book Atlas offers an up-to-date source of full-color maps of the world, continents, countries, states and provinces, and many cities.

• The collection of printable documents in Outline Maps and Flags contains blackline maps and flags of the US, fifty states, Canada, and Canadian provinces.

8. The World Book Online for Kids dictionary features simple language and thousands of illustrations and pictures.
